Intriguing about fitness and different sports since she was a child, Sari shifted her focus to arm wrestling at the age of 11 after a bet she made with her father over whether or not arm wrestling was an actual sport or just a game.

After conducting research on the subject and finding out that it was an actual sport, Azra joined the national team in the year 2016.

The athlete took home gold medals during the European Arm Wrestling Championship in Moldova in the year before and was awarded a gold medal for the left arm, as well as silver in the right arm during the World Arm Wrestling Championship held in Romania in 2021.

In the present, Azra Sari is setting her sights on securing new gold medals during the European Championships in Slovakia held between May 2 and 12, as well as the world championships that are scheduled for next year.

Talking to Anadolu Agency (AA), she claimed that she lives by arm wrestling.

She claimed that being the European champion in the year she won was one of her most significant accomplishments and said: “My life is passing through the accumulation of medals and accomplishments. The reason I don’t quit in this journey is in fact a form of debt to the girl Azra. Since I created this program in line with her dreams and goals.”

In announcing her efforts to add more success to her accomplishments, Sari said: “I have been one of the Turkish Champions seven times. the main goal of the sport is to raise the Turkish flag and to sing the Turkish national song in all countries. This makes me extremely proud and is what motivates me. Since the higher we hoist the Turkish flag the more proud we are. That’s my aim. I don’t leave the gym for more than five or every week for six days to bring off new world championships.”

Azra said the reason she had victory at arm wrestling was her parents.
